The Generosity of God

In contemplating on God's purpose in creating man, we see Love that is beyond human understanding.  The act of creation and the beginning of time were to provide the atmosphere and climate for the human race to live and have the opportunity to become the fulfillment of God's desire.  John 3:16 (NASB)  16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.   The Greek for "world" is "kosmos"--this planet earth and all that have lived on it or will yet live.  Jesus, the begottten, not the created, is the only one who could pay the price for us to become as He is, the image of God.  Hebrews 1:3 (EST)  3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

God's covenant desire is to make us in His image and He sent Jesus to provide the Way and show us what we can become when we accept and relate to all He is.  He becomes to us Savior, Redeemer, Baptizer,  Healer, Priest, Lord, and King.  But He calls us "friends" for we are in covenant with Him!
