In seeking to know Him, the Scriptures become the pieces of the puzzle to knowing Him. One Scripture that is repeated often is a part of II Corinthians 9:7 "....God loves a cheerful giver." I know in the context of the Scripture that this concerns our monetary giving, but it reveals an aspect of God's Nature, also. He loves for us to be cheerful in our response of giving.
We have nothing to give that was not given to us. The very breath we breathe was given to us. Time, that we spend so freely, is a gift of God to us. Paul exhorts us in Colossians that whatever we do in word or deed, do wholeheartedly as unto the Lord. Paul had found the secret of a life lived in God. Cheerfully, with our whole being involved, live each day as an offering to God. Give back cheerfully the time you have been given each morning. Work, play, relax in God's Presence. God's response? Jesus told us. Luke 6:38 (NLT) Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
God is making us in His image. We open the door for Him to abide in us by giving all we are to Him. To me, repentance of all that is in me that is in opposition to Him, is a daily or even constant reaction when I realize I am yielding to the pressure of this realm or the condemnation of Satan. I begin to praise until the peace and joy that He gives is my reaction. Practice His Presence with joy.
